How to tell if the tarpaulin is good or bad

Mar 30, 2023|

Thickness is the main factor affecting the quality of tarpaulin, generally using 850g/㎡, thickness of 0.65mm, has high shading, heat resistance, cold resistance and flame retardant performance, has good tensile and tear strength, has good wind resistance.

1, a lot of PVC coated cloth, due to the thickness of the coating is not enough, after weathering, tarpaulin easy aging, soft rubbing or surface wear, the coating is easy to break, the use of double-sided thickened acrylic surface treatment, in addition to the base fabric, the upper and lower acrylic coating and PVC coating a total of 8 layers, enhance the self-cleaning performance, greatly extend its service life, so that the tent can still be guaranteed to be bright and new after many years of use.

2. Good tarpaulin also has good fireproof and flame retardant ability, in line with the German standard DIN 4102 B1, M2, CFM fire protection standard. After removing the open flame for 1-2 seconds, it will automatically extinguish, so it has good flame retardant performance.

3. The use of low-cost inferior tarpaulin, does not have flame retardant effect, if it is lit on an alcohol lamp, it continues to burn after leaving the open flame, and does not have the function of flame retardant.

4. The tarpaulin has anti-aging and anti-UV performance: no fading in 4000 hours of xenon lamp irradiation, good soft performance, anti-ultraviolet color, anti-aging, uniform coating, not easy to mildew, discoloration, and good self-cleaning performance. It will not change color or fade for 5 years.

Low-cost tarpaulin, no surface self-cleaning treatment and anti-UV treatment, it is easy to yellow, fade, and even mildew, which greatly reduces its service life and affects its appearance and quality.
