What are the common materials for tarpaulin dyeing

Tarpaulin is a high-strength, toughness and softness waterproof material, often used as canvas, polyurethane-coated polyester or made into polyethylene plastics. Color is an important factor to consider when designing a product.

The tarpaulin usually has a sturdy grommeted loop at the corner or edge for easy use to tie, hang or cover with a rope. Its color affects the light and temperature inside the tent, and the tarpaulin with higher brightness has a higher light transmittance.

Tarpaulin will use titanium dioxide when dyeing, there are several kinds of titanium white, commonly used chlorinated titanium dioxide and sulfuric acid titanium white. The basic process of chlorination titanium dioxide is that first titanium raw materials and petroleum coke are mixed in a certain proportion, and then chlorine gas is chlorinated to obtain titanium tetrachloride, titanium tetrachloride is purified and refined and oxidized with oxygen to obtain titanium dioxide, chlorine gas returns to continue chlorination, oxidation to obtain titanium dioxide also need to go through salt treatment and coating and other processes to obtain good products.

Compared with sulfuric acid titanium dioxide, the dyeing process of tarpaulin is short, and the discharge of waste is small, but its requirements for raw materials are high, equipment corrosion is serious, the oxidation stage is easy to block the reactor, the technical difficulty is large, continuous production, and the operation requires a complex control system.
